The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is the most professionally organised industry trade fair in the Middle East and North Africa.

Professional Programme

Abu Dhabi offers a large number of professional programmes, ranging from briefings on the Arab Book Market and International Translation Funding Programmes to debates on how to establish an Arab Title Catalogue in order to enhance Distribution, and from discussions on how to prevent Copyright Infringements to a major panel on the topic of Children’s Libraries. Venues for these presentations and seminars will be the Discussion Forum and the Business Lounge.  

Cultural Programme

Visitors can look forward to meeting author celebrities such as Alaa al-Aswany and the 2007 Prince of Poets Kareem Matouq, Samar al-Mouqrin, Khairy Shalaby. Many more will read, discuss and sign books. The winner and the shortlisted authors of the first International Prize for Arab Fiction (“Arab Booker Prize”) will be presented 12 and 13 March. The authors and cultural personalities winning the 2nd Sheikh Zayed Book Award will also participate at the Fair.

Discussion Forum, Kitab Sofa, TextBox 

The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair offers a dedicated Discussion Forum and other exciting event venues such as the new Kitab Sofa  where well-known authors and cultural personalities are presented  and the TextBox, a renown platform for poetry and literature performance from Europe.

Join us in the Discussion Forum and at the Kitab Sofa  located in our new event area in the fair ground’s Atrium. Don’t miss the TextBox and be surprised by this new approach to the spoken word. Indulge yourself with poetry!
